What is the Rhode Island Black Business Association (RIBBA) and how does it help businesses?
The Rhode Island Black Business Association (RIBBA) is an independent non-profit 501 (c) (6) organization, founded in 2011. RIBBA is your bridge to resources and opportunities. These resources are essential to help clients take their business or career to the next level and build sustainable wealth.
RIBBA is one of Rhode Island’s business advocacy organizations formed to advance business opportunities and economic vitality in underserved cities throughout Rhode Island. RIBBA is made up of individuals and businesses of all sizes and membership is open to the public. The organization strives to build a purpose-driven Association where people unite and take actions to create lasting change. RIBBA values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, abilities, socioeconomic status, culture, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
RIBBA leverage the region’s core assets to find solutions in the area that matter most to its members and the community: contract opportunities, access to capital, quality jobs, growth and quality of life.

The Institute for Economic Empowerment and Development is a 501 (c) (3) charitable arm of RIBBA and provides financial support to RIBBA to carry out its stated priorities through educational programing to individuals, families and individuals and entrepreneurs which promotes dignity, economic growth and financial stability. Funds are acquired through by the way of donations, grants, and fundraisers.

How do I become a member of RIBBA?
We have made joining RIBBA easy! Join online or fill out the Online Application and we will connect with you or you can call the office at 401-383-1179 or send an email to Info@ri-bba.org.
Can I pay for a membership with my credit card?
Absolutely! RIBBA accepts Master Card, Visa, American Express and Discover for payment of Membership Dues, Publications, Marketing Services & all Networking Events.
How can I get more involved with RIBBA?
RIBBA Members and their employees can get involved in a number of ways! Including, attending events, participating in committees, volunteer at the Association’s many functions and so much more. How can my business get exposure through RIBBA?
RIBBA offers many opportunities to make connections and build relationships for your business. You can sponsor an event and promote your brand to existing or potential clients. Promoting your business through our Online Membership Directory and offering a " Deal" to fellow members is also an excellent way to increase the exposure of your business. There are many ways to get your name in front of other businesses, we invite you to sit down with us and visit about what might be the best fit for you!

If I'm not able to attend events and committee meetings, can I send an employee?
All employees of RIBBA Member businesses are Members, so everyone in your organization is welcome to attend and/or participate! In fact, many of our seminars and trainings are aimed at employees. Watch for information in our newsletter announcing programs and events that might be of interest to you or your employees!
